To you, who are trying too hard: A story from my “One Apple” days

There was a time during my study abroad years when I spent my days living on just a single apple. I was so desperate to build a better future that I worked two jobs, pushing myself until my body finally collapsed.

If I could speak to that younger version of myself today, I would say:

‘Please, don’t push yourself so hard. It’s okay to ask for help.’

When we are young, we tend to believe we can overcome anything just by trying harder. But the truth is, our lives are finite, and what we can achieve in a single day is limited. Pushing yourself beyond your limits might seem necessary now, but in the long run, the price you pay—your health and your future—might be far too high.

If you feel like you’re in the dark right now, please stop for a moment and take a deep breath. Rest is not ‘laziness’; it is a vital ‘investment’ in your own well-being.

I hope that my experience, traveling across the ocean, reaches your heart and makes your burden a little lighter.
