Are you an Incubator for your own dreams?

In biology, an incubator is a device that maintains the perfect conditions—temperature, humidity, and protection—for a life to emerge from an egg.

I’ve been reflecting on my own journey, from being a childcare teacher to an entrepreneur, and I realized that my life’s work is essentially that of an “incubator.” Not just for the children I teach or the flowers I grow, but for the dreams I hold for myself.

1. Creating the right environment Dreams, like eggs, are fragile. In the beginning, they cannot survive in the harsh, cold outside world. They need a warm, safe “Ibasho” (place of belonging) where they can develop without being judged. Have you created a space where your own potential can be safely incubated?

2. The beauty of patience An incubator doesn’t rush the process. If you break the eggshell from the outside, the life inside will perish. It must break through from the inside out when it is ready. This is the ultimate lesson in patience. As I grow my flowers from seeds and manage my three business ventures, I’ve learned that the most profound growth happens quietly, beneath the surface.

3. A message for parents and dreamers To the parents reading this: you are the incubators for your children’s future. Your love and acceptance are the “warmth” that allows them to grow. And to those who feel stuck: don’t be afraid to stop and build your own incubator. Sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is not to rush forward, but to cultivate an environment where you can eventually emerge as your true self.

Final Thought What are you currently incubating? A new project? A new version of yourself? Whatever it is, trust the process. You are the architect of your own growth.
