Yesterday was my blog day, but I decided to take a day off to find the right words. Waiting for myself until I feel truly satisfied—this is my way of creating “Yohaku” (blank space) in my life.
Today, I want to talk about “Engimono”—traditional Japanese lucky charms.
Have you ever heard that finding a “Chabashira” (a tea stalk standing upright in your cup) brings good luck? It’s a tiny, rare miracle. But that moment of thinking, “Oh, something good might happen today!” is the real treasure.
In Japan, we find these little gifts from nature everywhere:
- A small spider visiting in the morning—a messenger of fortune.
- “Saiun”—the rainbow-colored clouds that appear near the sun if you look up at the right time.
- A four-leaf clover quietly waiting to be found in the grass.
These aren’t just superstitions; they are reminders to slow down. When we notice them, a small “charm” is born in our hearts.
I hope my bags and accessories can be like these “wearable charms” for you—something that makes you feel, “I’ll be okay today,” just by having them by your side.
May your day be filled with beautiful premonitions.
