TeachingWithHeart

Every now and then, I receive emails from schools overseas asking me, “Would you like to work with us?” I am truly grateful for such a wonderful and humbling offer.

Looking back, meeting so many people both in Japan and abroad, and learning from them all, has been my greatest treasure.

Every single student I have worked with is my hope. I have given everything I had and faced them with all my heart every step of the way. Not only did we study for tests, but I also wanted to teach them how to connect with others so they wouldn’t struggle in the future.

I am a bit clumsy, so I can only ever focus on one thing at a time. Ever since I was young, I had planned to prioritize my family once I got married. That is because it’s how my parents lived—we were a family that cherished our time together. I originally intended to retire from work upon marriage, though I actually continued working for a while after.

I might be getting a little off track, but… Precisely because I deeply understand the immense responsibility and importance of taking care of children, I feel that balancing a family and a career is very difficult for me right now.

Perhaps as more time passes, I might find the capacity to balance both. When that time comes, I might consider the schools that have so warmly reached out to me through these emails.

For now, I want to cherish my daily life and the moments that matter most, walking my own path at my own pace.
