  • Shibahama — A Heartwarming Tale of a “Beautiful Lie”

Today, I’d like to introduce one of my favorite Rakugo stories: Shibahama.

It’s a story about a fishmonger who loves his sake a little too much. One early morning, he finds a leather wallet filled with gold at the beach in Shiba.

Excited, he rushes home and tells his wife about the fortune. However, his wife tells him, “You must have been dreaming,” convincing him that the gold never existed.

Panicked, the fishmonger searches everywhere for the wallet but can’t find it. Eventually, he gives up and decides to change his life. He stops drinking and works harder than ever before.

Years later, thanks to his hard work, he finally opens a successful shop on a main street, and his life becomes stable and prosperous.

On the night of New Year’s Eve, his wife finally confesses the truth about the wallet…

As for what happens next—I’ll leave that for you to find out.

  • I Finally Found My Ideal “Crispy” Pizza in the Most Unexpected Place!

Are you a “fluffy crust” person or a “crispy crust” person? I am definitely, 100%, a “thin and crispy” lover!

I’ve always struggled to find the perfect crunch at restaurants or in the frozen aisle. I kept thinking, “I wish I could find something even crispier…”

My Savior was a “Leftover” in the Fridge

The other day, I made Gyoza at home, but I ended up with a few leftover skins. Normally, I’d just toss them into a soup, but a sudden idea flashed through my mind:

“Wait… if I use these as a pizza crust, wouldn’t it be the ultimate thin-and-crispy experience?”

Done in 10 Minutes! Surprisingly Delicious

The process was almost too easy. I just spread some ketchup (or pizza sauce) on the Gyoza skins, added my favorite toppings and cheese, and popped them into the toaster oven.

A few minutes later, a savory, mouth-watering aroma filled the kitchen. And the result? It was exactly the “ultimate thin-crust pizza” I had been searching for!

The moment I took a bite, I heard the most satisfying “CRUNCH!” It was so delicious and easy, I couldn’t believe it started as just leftover skins.

It’s the perfect snack or appetizer. I wanted to tell my past self—the one who was sighing about not finding the perfect pizza—”Hey, the answer is right here in your fridge!” (lol).

    ✨ Yatagarasu: The Divine Guide

In my logo, you will find “Yatagarasu,” a legendary three-legged crow from Japanese mythology. Known as an incarnation of the sun, Yatagarasu guided the first Emperor to his destination. Its three legs represent “Heaven, Earth, and Humanity.” Today, it is revered as a deity of guidance, safety, and victory.

I chose Yatagarasu for my logo because I want to encourage you to follow the direction where your heart leads.

    ☀️ Inspired by Ame-no-Uzume

I also live by the spirit of “Ame-no-Uzume,” the goddess of dawn and joy. Just as her joyful dancing brought light back to the world, I believe that by truly enjoying what I do, I will naturally attract those who share the same heart.

I create with a smile, hoping my crafts and stories serve as a light that guides you toward your own happiness.

  • 🌸 My Heart for Handcrafts — A Story of Color and Soul

Hello, I’m Pipon. Today, I’d like to share the heart and soul behind my creations.

For me, the time spent creating is a “quiet joy.” I cherish these moments of solitude, weaving my heart into every single piece I make.

✨ Colorful Baskets to Brighten Your Spirit

My vibrant baskets are designed to brighten your day and bring a splash of joy to your heart. I weave each one with vivid colors, hoping they make your daily life shine a little brighter. I hope these colors inspire you to find your own unique joy every single day.

🌿 Jewelry Gentle on Your Skin and Soul

I believe that being your authentic self is the most beautiful thing of all. That’s why I use real flowers and select materials that are gentle on your skin—even for those with metal allergies.

🍂 A Story Shared with Nature

Because my pieces use natural materials, their colors may softly change over time. I see this as a “beautiful story” that we share with nature. I hope you enjoy these natural changes as a part of your own original journey.

If I’m not smiling, my crafts have no soul. That’s why I create with a happy heart, hoping that your life can be original and fun, too.

With love and color from Japan, Pipon

  • My Mixed Feelings: The Invisible Cost of Time

Recently, I attended a gathering of business owners, and we ended up talking about “common struggles” in our fields.

We identified three types of “window shoppers” that can be challenging:

The “Compliment-Only” Guest: Someone who says “I love it! I want it!” repeatedly but never takes action.

The “Information Seeker”: Someone who asks for every detail and the website link, but stops there.

The “Long Talker”: Someone who visits many times and talks at length, but never makes a purchase.

I used to think, “Does that really happen?” But surprisingly, I recently had my first experience with this! (lol)

What I realized is that these behaviors take away “Invisible Costs”: Time and Expectations.

When someone praises a work extensively or asks deep questions, a professional invests their heart and time to prepare for them. In some business circles, people who repeatedly do this are even restricted from visiting.

    Time is limited for everyone.

I am so grateful that my regular customers are wonderful and respectful. Perhaps it’s because my shop is online! (lol)

Let’s value each other’s time and keep our creative world a positive place.

  • Finding Balance

I’ve been managing five Instagram accounts, but honestly, it’s been tough lately with work getting busy. Three of them are currently on a break.

Should I focus on just three? Or keep all five at a slower pace? I’m still figuring it out.

Please take a look at my website to see which “window” speaks to you most. Your support would mean the world to me.

  • You’ll never know until you try.

Olivia has made a life-altering decision. She doesn’t know if it’s the right one yet; she simply chose to believe in herself. She has reached the point of no return. Now, there is no other way but forward.

  • The Philosophy of Craftsmanship

I’d like to share a little about my “commitment” and the philosophy of a creator.

Japanese products are often trusted worldwide. I believe this trust comes from the artisan’s spirit—the unwavering desire to create something truly satisfying, no matter how much time it takes.

In my own life, no matter what I’m doing, a part of my mind is always on my work. I’m constantly dreaming up ideas, creating prototypes, and testing them out. Among the mountain of failures, every once in a while, something wonderful is born. That is what I share with all of you.

Rest is essential, because that’s when the best ideas arrive.

Lately, I’ve been thinking… Perhaps the hardest thing in the world is not satisfying others, but satisfying yourself.

True quality is born from the courage to never settle.

I want to be someone who brings healing to others.

  • The Secret Experiment

I’ve started my own business a few months ago. To be honest, I haven’t told my parents, my friends, or anyone around me yet. Only my immediate family knows.

It feels like a personal experiment—to see how far I can go on my own strength. I know they would support me if I told them. Because I know their kindness, I wanted to stand firm on my own two feet first.

I thought I’d wait until my company name is known to the world, but that might take a few years (lol). Is it pride? Is it stubbornness? Or is it a challenge?

I’m leaving this here as a memo for myself. One day, I’ll look back and smile.

Your support would mean the world to me.
