Like the child in “The Emperor’s New Clothes” who shouted, “The Emperor has no clothes!”, I want to remain on that side for the rest of my life.
Unreasonable things happen in life, don’t they? There’s always the option of “going with the flow” or submitting to the powers that be to keep the peace. But I want to stay true to myself.
When I feel that something is wrong or strange, I want to ask, “Why?” This isn’t because I want to attack the other person—I genuinely want to understand their perspective, while also expressing my own feelings clearly.
People naturally have different ways of thinking. Even so, there are times when things in this world are genuinely wrong or unfair. When that happens, I want to be someone who can speak up without being swayed by the crowd.
