Yesterday, my home intercom broke down, so I had a repair technician come over to fix it.

Once the repair was safely finished, the technician went out to the gate to test it and called out through the intercom, “Can you hear me?” From inside the house, I cheerfully replied, “I can hear you!”

…Or so I thought. The next moment, the technician hurried inside, looking completely pale and bewildered.

With a worried face, they blurted out, “Wait, is the motherboard still broken somewhere…?”

The second I heard that, a wave of cold sweat and panic washed over me: “Wait, it’s not fixed!? Does this mean more repair costs?!”

However, when we checked what was actually going on… it turned out I had simply forgotten to press the “talk” button, so my voice hadn’t reached them at all.

As soon as we realized, we both burst into laughter and shouted, “Oh, of course!!”

That split second of panic followed by the ultimate relief of “Oh, that’s what it was.” Life is full of silly little oversights and misunderstandings, but when you can laugh about it together in the end, everything turns out just fine.

We don’t need to be perfect. Mistakes happen, but today ends with a smile and a happy resolution! Just another lighthearted moment from daily life.
