The other day, I encountered someone who honestly made me feel annoyed.
However, I chose to play it cool and remain unbothered.
Why? Because I remembered something I once read in a book:
“The people who truly care about you will give you advice or correct you when needed—whether they are your parents, relatives, or superiors. But those whom no one cares about won’t even be called out.”
When people lose all interest in someone, they stop pointing out their mistakes. Instead, they just look at them coldly and quietly walk away.
Recalling those words, I thought to myself, “Ah, maybe this person has never had anyone in their life who truly cared enough to guide or correct them…”
Of course, I didn’t bother giving them advice either (lol).
There are all kinds of people in this world.
We don’t need to engage deeply with everyone, nor do we need to let anyone disturb our peace of mind.
Choosing who we want in our lives and who we don’t.
Maintaining clear personal boundaries while protecting our precious inner peace.
This experience reminded me that to keep a pure and calm heart, we need both the strength not to be swept away by emotions and the flexibility to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.
