「愛国心」は、とても大切なものだと思います。 自分の大切な国を侮辱されたら、誰だって心に怒りが湧くものです。 今も昔も、世界のどこかで争いは絶えません。 自分と他人は違う。けれど、一つだけ共通していることがあります。 それは、**「愛する人を守りたい」**という切実な願いです。 歴史を紐解けば、奪われたら奪い返し、傷つけられたらやり返す……。 愛する人を失った悲しみは、時として深い憎しみとなり、次の世代へと連鎖してしまいます。 この終わりのない戦いを、どうすれば止めることができるのでしょうか。 私はかつて、多くの国を旅しました。 旅先で優しさに触れることもあれば、時には差別を受けることもありました。 帰国後、日本では仕事とプライベートの境目がないほど働き、心がすり減り、何かが壊れてしまいそうになった時期もありました。 転機となったのは、結婚です。 家庭を優先する生活に切り替え、数年が経った頃、ある決意をしました。 「世界平和に繋がることがしたい」 もちろん、一番大切な家庭を優先しながら。 日本が好き、旅行が好き、ものづくりが好き。 もっと世界を知りたいという純粋な好奇心から、私は3つの事業を立ち上げました。 しかし最近、ある葛藤を抱えていました。 日本を悪く言う人の言葉に触れ、心が沈んだのです。 「日本文化を伝えている私は、もしかしたら日本を切り売りしているだけではないのか？」と。 けれど今、私の心は穏やかです。一つの答えに辿り着いたからです。 私は、日本を売っているのではない。 日本を守るための「作法」を伝えているのだ、と。 互いを尊重し、調和を保つための「作法」を知ることは、争いを防ぐ一歩になると信じています。 みんな、愛する人を守りたいだけなのです。 次の世代が、安心して笑い合える世界でありますように。 そんな願いを込めて、私は今日も一歩ずつ進んでいきます。
