A Sweet Spring Rehearsal: The Young Bush Warbler

Today, I heard a young bush warbler practicing its song. Instead of the perfect “Hoh-hokekyo,” it sang a clumsy but adorable “Hoh-hokekyo-kyo!”
Watching it try so hard reminded me of my own journey. “Where should you go? Follow what makes your heart flutter.” Even if it’s not perfect yet, the beauty is in the trying.
I wanted to capture the young bush warbler singing so earnestly, but I worried that pointing my phone at him might frighten him away.
So, I kept my camera pointed at the wall of my house instead. The screen shows nothing but a plain wall, yet the breath of spring is clearly echoing there.
A rich moment where we are connected by sound alone, even without seeing each other. It was a moment of “Kyun”—a flutter of the heart—found in that gentle distance born from caring for another.
“Beauty lives in the heart of those who dare to try.” “Where should you go? Follow what makes your heart flutter.”
