Last month, while I was making homemade Tempura, I had a little accident. A splash of hot oil landed on my face, leaving two dark spots that looked just like new moles. I was quite worried about them.
Recently, after a relaxing bath, I gently exfoliated the area with a towel. It took about three days for the small blood clots to come off, but I was amazed—the dark marks have almost completely faded away!
A Note of Caution: While this worked for my skin, please remember that everyone’s skin is different. Please do not try this yourself, as it might not be suitable for your skin type.
For me, this small experience was a reminder of how important it is to listen to my own body and take care of it with patience. It is these little moments—both the challenges and the healing—that make Japan feel like my true “Ibasho” (place where I belong).
If you are planning to visit Japan and want to experience the deeper, more personal side of our culture, I invite you to explore my new guide, The Heart of Japan Series. Let’s make your journey a meaningful one.
