What was the last “first time” experience you had recently?
Yesterday, I bought a Karin (Quince) for the very first time. When I saw that bright yellow fruit shining in the supermarket, I honestly hesitated, thinking, “How do I even eat this?”
🍎 My First Challenge: Karin, the Fruit You Can’t Eat Raw!
Turns out, you can’t eat Karin raw! You have to slice it, boil it, and simmer it with sugar. It seemed like a lot of work, and I had no idea what it would taste like. I almost decided not to buy it, fearing failure.
But I gave in to my curiosity: “I want to know this new flavor!” and “I can’t let that yellow glow get away!” I took the leap and decided to try.
The result? It was unexpectedly delicious! Its unique aroma filled the room, and the effort I put in transformed it into a beautiful, amber-colored jam, like a jewel. The simmered Karin was incredibly tasty, and I was genuinely moved by the result! (^-^)
💖 The “First Time” Hurdle is Easier to Clear Than You Think!
This experience made me realize something important.
Whenever we start something new, the anxieties—“I don’t know how to do it” and “What if I fail?”—always seem like a huge hurdle, right?
- Speaking a language you don’t know.
- Trying to create something with a new material.
- Challenging yourself with an unfamiliar recipe.
But once you actually take that step, experience the simple process of “slicing, boiling, and simmering,” you find a new discovery and a small confidence waiting for you: “I did it!” and “Life still has so much fun to offer!”
